Can I book just a setup or fret dress?
Yes. Routine guitar and bass servicing is central to our work. We accept setups, fret dressing, refretting, electronics repairs and other service work. Your guitar does not need to be vintage or bought from our shop.
What is the difference between a setup and a fret dress?
A setup adjusts the instrument, including neck relief, action and intonation. A fret dress levels the frets, restores their crowns and polishes them. Uneven or worn frets may need separate work; we assess this before servicing.
Do you restore vintage guitars?
Yes, vintage repair and restoration is one of our specialities. We assess construction, original parts, finish and previous repairs, then agree work ranging from a localised repair to extensive restoration, with preservation priorities in mind.
Does restoration mean refinishing the guitar?
No. Structural repairs, fretwork and electronics repairs do not necessarily require removing the original finish or patina. Replacement parts and finish work are agreed separately. We do not promise an increase in collector value after repair.
How much does a repair cost and how long does it take?
Cost and turnaround depend on condition, scope, parts availability and workshop workload. Photos and a description start the consultation; a final estimate may require inspection. We agree the work and price before starting.
Can I send a guitar from another European country?
Please contact us before dispatch with your country, guitar model, fault description and photos. Acceptance, packing, shipping both ways and transport insurance arrangements are agreed individually. Our Polish transport offer does not automatically extend to international shipments.
Do you service instruments bought elsewhere?
Yes. We repair modern and older electric guitars, acoustics and basses regardless of where they were purchased. This includes daily instruments, new guitars needing a setup and restoration projects.
Do I need to install an app to book a repair?
No. Guitar Lab also runs in a browser at guitarlab.tv. You can call, email or visit us at ul. Dąbrowskiego 307 in Poznań. For international shipping, please contact the workshop first.
