GUITAR LAB / ACOUSTIC GUITARS

Acoustic guitar repairs

We service acoustic guitars, from setups and fretwork to bridge, bracing and soundboard crack repairs. At Guitar Lab in Poznań, Poland, the scope of work follows the condition of the individual instrument.

We work on modern and vintage guitars. A lifting bridge, a rattle inside the body or a change in action calls for an assessment of the cause. After inspection, we discuss the repair, any parts required and the quote.

GUITAR LAB / POZNAŃ

Bridge, bracing and soundboard

These are separate parts of the structure. We assess each one and consider their connections when planning the repair.

01

Bridge regluing

We inspect the bridge-to-soundboard joint, the condition of the wood and evidence of earlier glue work. Regluing requires an assessment of the fit and preparation of the mating surfaces.

02

Loose brace repairs

We check the braces inside the body and their glue joints. The position and extent of a separated joint, its condition and access inside the instrument determine the approach.

03

Soundboard crack repairs

We distinguish finish damage from a crack in the wood. We assess the edges of the damage and the surrounding area inside the body before deciding how to repair it.

What to include in your enquiry

Tell us if you have noticed a gap beneath the bridge, a crack, an unusual rattle or a change in action. Include when the symptom appeared and any known previous repairs. A photograph of the whole guitar and a close-up of the affected area help us begin the discussion.

When a repair needs to come before a setup

String height depends on several parts of the instrument. Before lowering a saddle, we also assess structural condition, neck relief and neck angle. A setup alone cannot repair a separated bridge or brace joint. We plan structural repairs and the final setup as separate stages.

Work suited to the individual guitar

The condition of the wood, previous repairs and original finish affect the scope of work. With vintage guitars, we also discuss which signs of use you would like to retain. Fretwork and any work on the nut, saddle or finish follow the assessment of that instrument.

Questions about acoustic guitar repairs

Do you repair modern acoustic guitars?

Yes. We carry out routine servicing and repairs on modern and vintage guitars. The work depends on the instrument’s condition and your requirements.

Does high action mean the bridge needs regluing?

Not necessarily. The cause may relate to adjustment or structural condition. An inspection establishes whether a setup is sufficient or a repair is needed.

How much does a bridge reglue or crack repair cost?

The cost depends on the condition of the joint and wood, previous repairs and the work required. Photographs help us begin the discussion; we agree on a detailed quote after assessing the instrument.

Can I send a guitar from another country?

We agree on the repair and acceptance of the instrument individually. Start with a description and photographs, then confirm delivery and return transport with us before dispatch.
