Edwards and ESP’s experience

Edwards belongs to the ESP family. ESP’s official history begins in 1975 with guitar and bass building and repair; a school for instrument makers and repairers followed in 1983. That background places Edwards within a Japanese tradition linking construction and service. It does not make every Edwards identical to an ESP-branded instrument.

Edwards in the 1989 catalogue

Edwards appears in ESP’s 1989 catalogue. The ELP-85C and ELP-80S spread shows single-cuts with set mahogany necks, rosewood fingerboards and two humbuckers. It documents a much longer history than “new brand” suggests, rooted in established guitar construction.

Electric guitars beyond the traditional shapes

The E-HORIZON-CTM 50TH illustrates a more modern direction: 24 stainless-steel frets, a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge, GOTOH MG-T tuners and Seymour Duncan SH-2n/TB-5 pickups. This is one model’s specification, not equipment shared by every Edwards.

E-JB basses: classic form and established hardware

The archived E-JB-130ALR combines an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, GOTOH GB29 tuners and two passive Seymour Duncan pickups. Vintage White has a different pickup-model pairing from other finishes. It illustrates familiar construction paired with established components.

Our Lake Placid Blue E-PB-95R/LT

Our Lake Placid Blue E-PB-95R/LT is listed as approximately 2013. Bass B26000 has a passive Seymour Duncan SPB-2 circuit and received fret dressing, copper shielding and a setup in our service department. We consider it a worthwhile option for a player who values equipment and playability. The instrument page carries current price, condition and availability.
