About this instrument
Instrument description in English.
About the instrument
The Blade Texas Standard Pro is an ST-style electric guitar from Blade, the Swiss brand founded by Gary Levinson. This example bears serial number 133074 and features a 3-Tone Sunburst finish, a maple neck with a maple fingerboard and three single-coil pickups. The classic layout is complemented by the active VSC (Variable Spectrum Control) system used in the brand's instruments. Levinson had been repairing guitars since 1964, opened a workshop in Switzerland in 1977 and launched the Blade brand in 1987. The Texas Standard Pro has been part of its range since 1994. The instrument is currently being prepared and will undergo the planned luthier service in our workshop before it is released.

Body and construction
The ST-style double-cutaway body is made of alder according to the model specification. The instrument has a 3-Tone Sunburst lacquer finish, a mint green pickguard and cream pickup covers and knobs. It uses a Bolt-on construction with the neck attached by four screws; the neck plate carries serial number 133074 and the Levinson signature. In line with the pre-sale arrangement, the body will be polished.
Neck and ergonomics
The maple neck is paired with a maple fingerboard with 22 frets and black position markers. The truss rod adjustment is located at the 22nd fret (EZ-Access system), at the body end. As part of the pre-sale work, the instrument will receive a complete set of new frets and a full setup. This will ensure correct intonation and suitable string action along the entire length of the fingerboard.
Sound
The instrument is fitted with three single-coil pickups in an SSS layout, controlled by a 5-way switch, a Volume potentiometer and two Tone potentiometers. They are complemented by the active VSC (Variable Spectrum Control) circuit with a mini switch on the pickguard.
Character: Three single-coil pickups and five switch positions deliver the tonal range characteristic of the ST-style design. The VSC circuit adds active tone settings to it, adjusted with trimmers accessible through a plate on the back of the body.
Dynamics: The pickups are passive, and only the VSC circuit is active. In passive mode the guitar works like a classic instrument with three single-coils. The electronics will be checked as part of the work.
Additional information
VSC (Variable Spectrum Control) is Blade's proprietary circuit: an active preamp with tone shaping whose settings the user adjusts themselves, equipped with a passive mode.
Truss rod adjustment at the 22nd fret (EZ-Access) has been standard on Blade guitars since 1987.
Serial number 133074 is stamped on the neck plate below the words “Registered Serial No.”, next to the Levinson signature.
The guitar is offered on a pre-sale basis, which makes it possible to reserve this example before the full luthier work in our workshop has been finalised.
Hardware
Bridge: Vintage-style tremolo mounted with six screws, with bent steel saddles that allow string height and intonation to be adjusted. As part of the work, the bridge will be polished and adjusted.
Tuners: Vintage-style machine heads with split shafts. The hardware will be polished.
